For various and sundry reasons there is only a prep picture of the chicken being carved. The chicken was made for my dad, who does not like turkey. All the other people who moaned about but turkey! ended up eating the chicken. It’s a good thing we only had one turkey breast and not a whole turkey.
Mostly this was holiday by Trader Joe’s because I wasn’t going to spend weeks cooking and cleaning, but that was better than it might have been. I also had squash from the farmers market that I baked and I used the pre roasted Brussels sprouts but added lemon zest and lemon juice.
My mother did, indeed make her jello mold. The pies were pumpkin and I made extra thick whipped cream. My nephew (age 4) was very happy with the pie until my mother offered him ice cream. His father spent the rest of the evening telling him he could not eat the entire half gallon.
