I got my work permit.

Apparently, I am not walking over to early voting today. 40 minutes walking in a thunderstorm does not appeal.

Is this the appropriate place to mention I have just been offered the opportunity to invest approximately $1K in my vehicle's continued functionality?

Well, it's official. Why this is causing enough tension to upset my stomach, I don't know, but I've resigned. Formal letter and everything. Boy I hope that paperwork goes through. For those of you who might not know, that means if everything works out, I will be a Fellow in glaucoma in Vancouver for one year starting July1.

Canada hasn't rejected me! Otoh, they haven't officially accepted me either. Also, I will clarify later, but my resignation is now verbally official and will soon be letterhead official, so as soon as that is tied up, I will be able to ask for input publicly.
