Sometimes I have weird thoughts.

Sometimes I have weird thoughts. For example, how cool is it that we get safe drinking water piped right into our homes and we can get it from any tap in the house on demand? I think that's pretty awesome.

I will post something more detailed elsewhere in future, but am making major changes in my life.

I will post something more detailed elsewhere in future, but am making major changes in my life. Not sure how it will go, lots of anxiety, etc. but need to do something that will make a difference in how things have been going. Here's hoping it will not involve zombies.

Emotional exhaustion, it's a thing.
Happy birthday Alistair Young!
Lake Furnace returns. Sigh. Someone was very grumpy when it was discovered this morning.
Ah, Lake Furnace, day three. Now there's a shiny new valve.

Good-bye, Hunter's Moon.

Today was leaky furnace day. Fortunately, Lake Furnace has been drained and dredged.

My dad was in a lot of pain today.

My dad was in a lot of pain today. But he decided he wanted to get a piece of apple pie from this place that he likes, so I drove him over. He was being silly when he let me know, though. He was downstairs and I was upstairs and he called my cell phone from his cell phone. That might not sound silly for most people, but for my dad, it definitely was.

Tonight's the Hunter's Moon, if you're interested, and a partial eclipse thereof.
I'll be an unkeys moncle. The app is working again on my phone. Maybe I'll try reinstalling it on my ipad.

Went looking for leaves last week on a good day. Drove to Canandaigua Lake and drove along the western shore (as much as you can).

I like auto service places with free wifi (that functions). Feel free to entertain me.
Dad felt well enough to go out for breakfast this morning, so that's what we did.

Because why shouldn't everyone get to enjoy?

Because why shouldn't everyone get to enjoy? - What are you doing? - Taking this plastic thing down the stairs before somebody kills themselves. - Well, nobody's going to kill themselves if they don't walk down the stairs. None of this was said ironically.

I guess I will not be using google plus as an app on any of my mobile devices anymore.

I guess I will not be using google plus as an app on any of my mobile devices anymore. The only suggestion I got from the forums was upgrade to iOS 7, it will fix everything! I rather doubt that, and it will probably not be happy on older devices not intended to run it.  Besides, the g+ app claims it supports older versions, which you may readily download, so this supposedly should not be a problem. It's very annoying.  I'd be thrilled if any of you have any suggestions, here.
Why is g+ perfectly fine on my laptop, but returning a 404 on any of the app versions (phone, ipad)?
Happy Canadian Thanksgiving!
Yesterday was a very mediocre day. It excelled in its mediocrity. It epitomized the very concept of mediocrity.
Happy birthday Tanya Bruce!
Why does g+ keep telling me there's something new and then showing me the same things in a different order?

I'm sure this will sound silly, but my dad and I were discussing something that involved lithium and the general flammable properties of various elements in column one and column two. Me: Maybe dilithium is more stable. Dad: Not the Klingon stuff, too many impurities.

Cuz I can't resist a pun, no matter how far I have to go to get it.

Today I had a paw paw.

Today I had a paw paw. They're different but good, although I can see why some people might not be keen on them. They have a lot of big seeds, for one thing. And the description I'd heard was tastes like a banana, except they don't, really. The texture is kind of like a banana. To me it tasted like a combination of mango, papaya, and maybe something flowery like one of those super sweet tiny tropical bananas. I imagine you'd mostly use them for baking, though, because of all the seeds it's pretty hard to cut them into pieces of any kind, esp since they also have to be peeled.

My dad gets really frustrated by the effect 'things' have had on cognition. It makes things really hard sometimes.

As expected, we're all going through the aftermath of the non-funeral.

As expected, we're all going through the aftermath of the non-funeral. I was really impressed with my cousin, though. That was the classiest way of not saying "this whole thing is a giant mess because somebody is being a complete #$*!@" I've ever heard. #unfun #whosaidlifeisfair

I wish I had gotten more time to spend with my sister not under pressure this weekend.

I wish I had gotten more time to spend with my sister not under pressure this weekend. Nobody got much sleep, and we're all exhausted. Meanwhile, everyone was very appreciative and complimentary about the service she put together, and said the same about the Mozart. Most importantly, as difficult as it was for him to travel, my dad said he was glad he came.Which really, really is important.

My brother is an officious ass.

My brother is an officious ass. He's a good guy, his heart's in the right place, I respect his professional expertise, we even have some opinions in common, etc., but, Eru, I cannot be near him continuously for very long.

Sigh.

Sigh. Watching Ohio State game b/c my brother wanted to watch football and my dad likes to watch football. Dad makes comment about a play. Brother says, "Have you ever played football?" Dad says, "Yes." Brother says, " Oh, yeah? When was the last time you played football?" Dad answered him (he did play, fyi) and brother responded with "See? What are you criticizing him for?" Apparently, if you never played pro and you haven't played in the last 10 years, you don't know anything about football and have no business expressing an opinion. I feel the need to mention my brother never played football. At any age. Ever. Other sports, never football. That's ok. It's admirable of him to stick up for the little guy. #sarcasm

The Case for Canamerica - By J. Dana Stuster

http://www.foreignpolicy.com/articles/2013/10/03/the_case_for_canamerica_canada_america_merger

Omg, this is such a disaster.

Omg, this is such a disaster. Too long, sum up. No funeral b/c aunt lost it. So now memorial service. We knew this yesterday and was being dealt with, sort of. No funeral, no officiant. So my sister is doing this. My cousin asked my sister if she would ask me to sing b/c my uncle liked classical music. My sister sent email last night, but of course I wasn't checking, so she called late this am. Hunting on Internet, running thru misc services, discussing, seeing if I had any voice, warning this wasn't going to be too good, etc. So now I'm trying to prep Mozart at the last minute, a capella, and deal with my family. Gods help me. No, really, that was summed up.
My mother really needs to stop telling everybody what to do and how to do it.

Phone calls that should not happen (5 1/2 hours) before noon: Hi!

Phone calls that should not happen (5 1/2 hours) before noon: Hi! We've been up all night (for unfortunate reasons) so we're going for breakfast. Wanna join us? Thought: Die. Said: No. -_-

The luggage has been found and delivered.

The luggage has been found and delivered. Meanwhile, we have had a disturbing car rental agent (not even sure what happened there but it was really not pleasant), and all sorts of charming semantic 'discussions' . Also, you know the Sigourney Weaver repeat the computer thing in Galaxy Quest? Try sitting with my family and listening to them telling everyone else what the other person really meant/said. Sigh.
Oh, good. They misplaced my parents' luggage.

Awesome.

Awesome. Weather forecast looks funereally appropriate for this weekend. Here's hoping it doesn't do anything horrible to anyone's travel. (Snow, tornadoes, you know, good stuff.)

Well, we're leaving tomorrow for the next episode in The Edge of Blight.

Well, we're leaving tomorrow for the next episode in The Edge of Blight. It shouldn't be all bad. I get to see some of my cousins and my brother and sister will be there.

In other news, my family has turned into a soap opera.

In other news, my family has turned into a soap opera. There could be money in novelizing or scripting this. Except someone would probably say you made it up.

This morning I replaced the headlights on my car and eliminated Mothra.

This morning I replaced the headlights on my car and eliminated Mothra. Or his little cousin. Who thought it was fun to fly into Mom's face last night. Which did not go well, but he escaped. Until I found him this morning. Poor Mothra.

Oh, good.

Oh, good. Now they're telling everyone else what to say. Like, exactly what words they should be using. I really wish it was ethical to do something. Anything you say is "mean", or "hurtful", or feeds the paranoia. And it's hurting the other person they're so worried about, but gods help you if you say that. Among other things, you'll get a list of all the things you and the other person have ever done that were, in fact, mean or hurtful or imperfect in any way, etc. Omg, they need meds, but I want them.

In case you really wanted to know how I was doing ...

In case you really wanted to know how I was doing ... I say something to Person #1, who is the only person in the room, and Person #2 appears behind me and interrupts to ask what was said to them, except I didn't say anything to them. I say I didn't say anything to them and they respond by telling me that it's their house and that anything I say, I will say to both of them.  I am well aware that person #2 is stressed and anxious over what is happening with person #1, but I can't deal with this. P.S. Some of you will figure this out, but I'm deliberately being obtuse, because this really isn't the right place to post this, but I can't deal with this.

It appears I will be in Minneapolis Saturday and Sunday for a funeral.

It appears I will be in Minneapolis Saturday and Sunday for a funeral. I really hope the stress of this whole thing will stay at low levels for my parents and me. I mean, the added stress to the already existing levels from this.
