New Year's Day, my sister decided she wanted to see the Falls (i.e., Niagara Falls) in its winter glory, which she hasn't in many years. I think technically the high temp in the sun was 15 degrees F, but the wind chill by the Falls was definitively colder. Thus, the spray was tiny ice shards. This led to an interesting effect I haven't experienced before - an air brushed nubbly coating of ice on your glasses, which quickly became not see through-able. It melted quickly, too, though, so that led to a fun cycle of ice, rinse, repeat. Anyway, we dressed appropriately for hiking in the winter and it was beautiful. We walked around for about an hour along the river, above Horseshoe Falls, and on Three Sisters islands. Goat Island ftw!
