Finally tried one of the newer local supposed to be authentic regional Chinese restaurants. The region being around Xi'an. It's really good.

This is the "hot chili chicken". It's like the best popcorn chicken you've ever had. Surprisingly not greasy, flavored with szechuan peppercorns, red hot peppers, cilantro, green onion, and some other flavor I couldn't quite place.

I would have liked the chicken pieces to be a little larger, because I prefer a little more meat than the breading, which is nice and crispy and light, but still. I always find Chinese food too salty whenever I get anything that is supposed to be authentic, but it probably wouldn't bother most people?

The other thing I like about this place is that there is free hot tea. I am very fond of places with free hot tea.

  1. Looks just like chicken in chili sauce at the place around the corner from work.

  2. Probably very similar, although this doesn't have any actual sauce on it.

  3. If it would survive, I would ship it to you.
