I have wondered why this isn't considered a public health issue.

I have wondered why this isn't considered a public health issue. Not because we should brow beat people with the sinfulness of suicide (give me break), although that is inescapably something embedded in our culture. Possibly, the idea that you're a bad person for having the thought is part of what happens to people who find themselves in a spiral. Social and peer pressure are real.

In any case, this article is maybe the start of a conversation about suicide and public health.
