Things I did not know existed - asparagus ice cream. Officially the flavor is called Hadley Grass and includes nuts (pistachios, I think?). It's not as weird as it sounds. It's like a creamed asparagus with a very mild asparagus flavor - and the nuts.

I don't know if this qualifies as Western or Central Massachusetts, but apparently this is an asparagus growing region and May is harvest time. This is also an area with a lot of dairy farms. One of them also makes ice cream. Thus, seasonal Hadley Grass asparagus ice cream.
