Oh, hell no.
Oh, hell no. Now that I backtracked and see this reporting, this guy is on a power trip and not someone you ever want to work for. So he will almost certainly be promoted to a two star admiral.
While I can accept that there are limited circumstances under which somebody normally forbidden from doing so might need to get involved in a medical situation with people running this country, I call fertilizer on this. Karen Pence had a physician who was taking care of what needed to be done. Even if Jackson had to be the one to call Walter Reed, which seems ridiculous, he didn't need to know more than the specific reason for her being sent there and he certainly didn't need to tell anyone other than the admitting physician what was going on.
Plus, she isn't part of the power structure, folks. Sorry. She's the spouse of the second in command. If it necessitated anything more than a day of the VP being distracted to the point that he couldn't do his job, well, I think the country can handle it. Afaik, we don't even need a VP unless the Potus dies. And we still have the Speaker and the President Pro Tem and all those wonderful Cabinet appointees. So absolutely no reason for violating HIPAA and interfering in the care provided to a patient by that patient's physician.
As far as his behavior is concerned, if there's a more damning statement than this, I can't imagine.
After being informed of his "intimidating" behavior, Jackson "concurred with that statement, and responded that even his wife tells him he can be perceived as intimidating," the memo said.
Perceived my aunt fanny.

This kind of thing makes me believe that he (45) didn't really even consult with any of his staff before the nomination announcement. It was "oh, I know this miltary medical guy. Therefore he must be perfect for the job."
