First thoughts: You go, clergy people who get it.

First thoughts: You go, clergy people who get it.

Second thought: I hope nobody decides their pro-life views include attacking these clergy.

  1. That is a great letter. I am interested though in the one pastor who said just "Lutheran" rather than "ELCA". Because the other 2 Lutheran orgs would definitely frown on this.

  2. Looked it up - they are both ELCA.

  3. So, despite the great letter in the link, the bill passed anyway? That's atrocious. Plenty of women don't even know they are pregnant until after 6 weeks. They say they want to stop abortions, but not even allowing women time to consider their options is going to increase the number of abortions, not decrease. The whole concept makes me physically ill.

  4. I really want to take some random bible passage about hand washing, point out that every time you wash your hands you are killing living cells, and then call them all murderers.

Of course, the expected responses would include:
    1) The only life that counts is human life, so that life doesn't count.
    2) A ban on hand washing for religious reasons.

Both to be rationalized with amazing feats of contortional emotion and illogic.

I'm not even going to point out that you can detect heartbeats in insects and other clearly self-supporting, living life forms. Right before you thoughtlessly poison them or smash them to a bloody pulp.
