Yes, that's right.
Yes, that's right. "Crying white mothers are ratings gold." Because we should make sure there is some racism in here, too. In case it was unclear that we only mean white people, and the right kind of white people, should have guns.
Choice quotes from Dana Loesch at CPAC. Note that she manages to attack "the media" and then "law enforcement". Interesting, since the gun lobby is very much cooperative with a number of so-called law enforcement groups and agencies. Yet, the NRA blames law enforcement as a distraction tactic from the guns used.
I wonder very much if any real law enforcement professionals are going to realize that the NRA is with them only so long as they are useful. That, in fact, it sounds a lot like the NRA would like everyone to believe we live in a lawless state of anarchy where we will all be raped and murdered (things they specifically mention regularly) unless we each, individually, own our own personal arsenal. That law enforcement is ineffective and/or does not exist and/or is also the enemy.
Maybe they really believe we live in that dystopia. They are certainly trying to create it.
P.S. Gaslighting is tricking someone into questioning their own sanity by doing things that mess with their experience and perception of reality. I would contend that if there is any gaslighting, here, it's the NRA doing it by trying to convince people they are all about to be rounded up in a Stalin-esque purge.
This morning, Loesch announced at CPAC, “many in legacy media love mass shootings.”
“You guys love it,” Loesch snarled at the “legacy media” covering her remarks.
“Now, I’m not saying you love the tragedy,” Loesch added, clarifying her smear. “I am saying you love the ratings. Crying white mothers are ratings gold.”
Loesch was warming the CPAC hall, if it needed warming, before NRA chief Wayne LaPierre gave his traditional fiery stump speech. “We will not be gaslighted into thinking we are responsible for the tragedy” in Parkland, Florida, Loesch declared. “We had nothing to do with it. It is not our job to follow up on red flags, not our job to make sure states are reporting” to the background-check system.
“Failure of law enforcement is not a failure of the law; it is a failure of enforcement.”
