Why would it be bad to have two bridges between Detroit and Windsor? Other than Moroun not getting to own everything.

We need two bridges. But having another private one is not good.
ReplyDeleteOne of the hold ups on the new government one has been Moroun, although not all (property acquirement on this side).
The new gov bridge will connect directly to the 405, bypassing the side streets in Windsor. Moroun's proposal is for one directly next to the Ambassador, which just adds to the traffic issues. It surprised us all when this permit was issued as no one thought that the Canadian's would allow it.
What an asshole this guy sounds like.
ReplyDeleteDavid Scotton, a judge even put him in prison for contempt when he had his company build a gas station and duty free shop where he was supposed to build a highway connector in Detroit.
ReplyDeleteThey also own Michigan Central Station, the train station which is the focus of so much of Detroit's "ruin porn".

ReplyDeleteJosh, I don't understand your question in the picture.
ReplyDeleteProbably the name of the neighborhood in Windsor.
