Yup.

Yup. They are somehow trying to make this about the Democrats. They wanted Comey fired, so why could they possibly have any questions now? This must be political! Well, yeah. Anything that interferes with an election is political, and the Republicans were more than happy if it messed with their opponent.

But how can the Democrats not be dancing in the streets over Comey's firing? Well, for one thing, he goes and Trump gets to appoint whoever gets to investigate his campaign. That's bad optics, not to mention an almost unavoidable conflict of interest.

And if there's a lack of confidence in Comey, do you really think everyone is going to trust whoever replaces him under these circumstances? I mean, I get that I have no way of knowing what really goes on inside the DOJ or the FBI. But surely there are always disputes and disagreements inside those agencies with differences of opinion on how and what to do. Yet it's historically rare that the FBI director gets fired. So what was so catastrophic this time?
