Instead of being willing to fix those things that could be improved about the ACA, the only thing that the Republicans and associates are willing to accept is their way or the highway. They couldn't get their way, so they don't want to play anymore.
Mind you, it is unreasonable in a normal political situation to force a vote when you know you will lose. One thing this has proven is that Trump's bullying tactics that supposedly worked in business do not work in governance. At least not this time. Smart move to not have an actual loss on record, hence cancel the vote. Or, you know, his ego wasn't ok with a full-blown formalized loss if he forced them to hold a vote.
