Documenting for my own sanity.
Documenting for my own sanity.
Mom now says she hates the bed and didn't want it anyway and they bought it because Dad wanted it and it was for his back but it turned out it wasn't the bed he had a real back problem.
1. She wanted a new bed. She pushed it while Dad said no. He caved, so yeah, at some point when she pressured him into going and looking he expressed a preference. She wanted a new bed so she could give theirs to her brother.
2. The timing of getting a new bed versus his medical back issues is not consistent with her recollections that the new bed was for Dad's back.
3. It occurs to me that it is possible Dad is sleeping further into the center of the bed than he once did because it is a squishy edged bed that really has no edge and you slide off it, or rather it slides out from under you, unless you are at least 4 inches away from the edge. Which takes out a fair bit of real estate, really, if you both need to be 4 inches closer to the center of the bed.
She actually thinks that the reason for buying a very expensive new bed was my Dad and his back. She now hates the bed because she almost lost an eye falling out of it. She was 100% the reason anyone ever looked for a new bed and it was entirely because she wanted to get a bed for her brother. She could have bought some cheap thing for him new that would have cost less. No, she decided they needed a new bed.
Seriously, it's insanity inducing. Like, the only good thing I can think of in this is that if anyone ever questions my dad, I was here for the whole thing and can recollect of my own accord what really happened. Not that her absolute certainty doesn't make you feel like you've lost your mind. Because it absolutely makes me feel like I've gone insane, or slipped into some parallel dimension, or something.
Thank Eru I know I have a good memory and am able to write this down to reassure myself of my sanity.
