Hm. Somebody is doing fireworks very near here. Which pretty much guarantees it's illegal. It also has a very negative effect on my dad, whose life stresses have reverted him to reacting as if things were from a previous period of his life. Fortunately, since you can see them, I could reassure him they were not gunfire. (I have no idea what military gunfire sounds like, I just know this isn't that.)
