I guess today is National Limerick Day. But since it is really a larger celebration of Edward Lear, perhaps if you can find a runcible spoon, you should just eat some mince and quince in his honor.

    I think I was in 4th grade when I learned about limericks in school. We had to write them. Now, I can only imagine how hard that teacher had to work to keep a straight face and figure out how to keep us from being unintentionally naughty.

    Interestingly, Lear's were apparently not in the NSFW tradition that has since arisen. Most kids would maybe be naughty, but, you know, fart rhymes with a lot of things.

    Yeah, that's kinda predictable, sadly. Kids are all hey, look, my body does stuff! and adults freak out when I mention it! Excellent!
