I am kind of beboggled at the immaturity and unprofessionalism that seems to be the tactic of (certain campaigns) choice to oppose Trump. Because, you know, the best way to do this is to behave as badly or worse than he is? Knowing how I feel, like this is watching an embarrassing and degrading slo-mo disaster, I cannot even imagine what it looks like to anyone from another country. I mean, they're all but sticking their tongues out and singing nyah nyah nyah nyah nyah at each other.

  1. People from Australia, at least, wouldn't see it at all unless they seek it out, the way I do.  Maaaybe there'd be the odd bit of "Look how crazy Trump is!" stuff, but it'd be in the same segment of the news where they show a squirrel on little waterskis or whatever.

  2. Alistair Young My experience has not been that foreigners think of Americans as nice people.

  3. Alistair Young The broad impression in Australia is that they're loud, brash, ignorant knowitalls.  And I sort of got that impression from other countries that I've visited too.

(Although it makes sense that people in the UK are going to be more hostile towards Europeans.  Familiarity breeds contempt and all that.)
