Remember the whole "regular" potato thing a while back?
Remember the whole "regular" potato thing a while back? My mom wrote down that she wanted steak for 6 adults on the grocery list. Now, I know she feels grass-fed beef is too dry and lean for her preference, so I didn't get that. Not to mention how much more expensive it is. She didn't mention a particular cut of steak, or marbling, or anything.
At the store, there were some cuts of steak that were basically 1-2 person size servings, around 12 oz. max. Otherwise, there were large 2.5-3 lbs. steaks. The price was much better on one big old steak than on three little old steaks. So I bought one big old steak. Sirloin, in fact. I was wrong.
Sigh. Not enough fat, get too dry when you cook them, etc. Doesn't matter, really. Point is, instead of cooking it, I think she just stuck it in the freezer. Where it will likely remain for a very long time, thus improving its cooking properties and edibility. I give up.
