I may be missing something, but it sounds like a) this is a good way to make money for Fairfax, and b) people are choosing to interpret a law so they can make that money. Separately, I can't believe they only had to pay $2mil to settle the wrongful death suit in a prior case.

  1. I cant believe this is a justifiable use of taxpayer dollars.  Also:

    "Raids by Fairfax police on private poker games are not new — a similar game in Great Falls was raided in 2005. But in 2006, a SWAT team was called in to arrest a single suspect accused of betting on football games, and Officer Deval Bullock accidentally shot and killed optometrist Salvatore J.   2. Problem is, they point out that there is a law on the books that they have seemingly consistently been using to justify this. Until that is changed or challenged, apparently they can keep doing it. (And I don't think much of an experienced professional who can't control whether or not he fires his weapon. In fact, it scares me.)
