Pain is bad, right?
Pain is bad, right? I think I may have overdone something. It kind of hurts. Walking is not going so good. Ice helps at little, stretching was helping until it wasn't. If I keep moving a little, it loosens up. If I stop moving, it spasms when I try to start moving again. Stupid exercise. I mean, just because I did you 3 days in a row so it would not fall too far behind this weekend.
I managed to hurt my back yesterday, so I feel ya.
ReplyDeleteIt really depends on the pain. Soreness can actually be good, to some extent, though it may be a sign you need to drink more water, as it will help the muscle mending process and thin out the lactic and other acids that can build up in tired/exercised/overused muscles. If it is really severe, just know that you body is actually burning calories at a higher rate while you are sore, so it is OK (and possibly a good idea) to take a step back and go easy for a day or two, otherwise risking actual injury.
ReplyDeleteSharp, throbbing, stabbing, debilitating pain typically means that something is wrong and you should immediately back off what you are doing until the pain stops, or at least mostly subsides, then re-evaluate how/what/why you are doing it in the future. If the pain doesn't go away or comes back quickly when you resume activity, it may be time to see a doctor.
I wish this was that "good" kind of tired muscle pain. It's that really sore wtf achy kind of nauseated muscle and/or connective tissue pain. It sucks.
