Observation: my brother is a privileged, yuppie, hipster, trendy, west-coast snob. I was genuinely surprised to realize how unconsciously this permeates what might otherwise pass for thoughtful, informed, educated choices. They would be the same thing, but there's a real overtone that completely changes the character. It's too bad, really.
