Today I made:
1. Salsa verde, for which I smoked the poblanos myself.
2. Peach mango salsa chicken, in which I learned that my favorite brand of store-bought peach mango salsa is no longer and I apparently will either have to learn to can or no longer have this dish.
3. More tahini-based cookies, which came out very crispy and chewy and tasty. (the ones I made the other day, using Yotam Ottolenghi's recipe, are not poor, but are basically a very lightly flavored and rich shortbread.)
Earlier in the week, besides the other cookies, I made buckwheat and beef, which was very tasty, although it doesn't sound like it in type.
Future plans include some kind of smoked onion jam. The tahini was around because I made baba ganoush (for which I smoked the eggplants myself - cooking with fire is fun!)

BTW, if you are really having fun cooking from scratch, homemade tahini is super easy and slightly cheaper than store-bought.
