P.S. the picture with The Atlantic article is killing me. I guess all Norwegians are supposed to be Heidi doing handstands. I mean, Heidi was German/Swiss, but you get the point, right? I wasn't going to say Pippi. She's Swedish. Look, I don't know the names of any popular Norwegian children's books, nevermind one with a female protagonist, ok? Everything I know is Henrik Ibsen and it's all adults and they're totally depressing.

Well, there’s Nemi, but she is extremely anti exercise. (Much of the humor in Nemi stems from the conflict of goth girl vs the Norwegian culture of long walks in nature.)
