You guys have done this before, so am asking thoughts re: sets of cookware.

Mom's pots and pans are old and need replacing. Once upon a time I would have just gone to a department store and gotten a good to decent mid-level set during a sale, or something. Now, I'm not so sure. Also, fewer places to look for said cookware. Definitely do not wish to spend exorbitant sums.
Thoughts?

The Sweet Home's recommendations almost always work for me.
ReplyDeleteIf you decide on a brand/set that you like, try keeping an eye out on Amazon/Woot/etc., as they frequently have sales on some pretty nice stuff.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, Sweet Home does not consider sets a worthy thing and has a few isolated reviews of a few types of pots/pans. Most of which run fairly costly.
ReplyDeleteI have thoughts. And links. Cook's Illustrated doesn't care for sets either, but they have made recommendations in the past.
ReplyDeleteThis is what rates as their best buy. I have this set and love it dearly. And you won't have to buy it from Walmart.

This t-Fal is the runner up, but it is in stock at Amazon right now. The Oxo Open 12" (not the Pro) is their winner, but is out of stock and I cant even find it on Amazon at the moment.
