Ion, my mother has become Miss Havisham.

Ion, my mother has become Miss Havisham. My sister gave her a dozen roses when she came for the July 4 weekend and they are WAY past their sell by date. Not only do they look like it, they smell like it. However, we are not throwing them away because we are 'drying' them. Mm hm, yeah. That's why they smell like that.

  1. I take it she is trying to "dry" them while they are still in their water filled vase?

  2. It was already at the point where they had all drooped over and smelled awful before she decided that rather than throw them out, she would "dry" them. So, yeah, there was water up to that point. There isn't anymore, however, they were already smelling rotten and that ain't goin' away.
