ReplyDeleteI am amazed at how much I could understand without running translation software, but I don't think I would have the vocabulary at hand to say any of it without research.

ReplyDeleteFrench, in high school, plus some Spanish at my first "real" job. Throw in some German from a character I played about 14 years ago and my vocabulary is a giant mish-mosh train wreck. The worst is when I try to conjugate German and all I can think of is French verbs.
ReplyDeleteI sympathize. I took Spanish first, then French, then Spanish again in college, followed by Arabic. If I wasn't thinking I'd answer French questions in Spanish, to the irritation of my French teacher.
