Also, some things debunking that. Because I'm sure it's critically important for you to know, the Falls doesn't freeze. The mist will freeze into thick layers of ice over everything, and the Niagara River will freeze, and ice from the Great Lakes will stop by for a visit, but the Falls themselves don't freeze. What's unusual this year is how early how much ice has built up on the river and at the base of the falls. Per the park ossifer, there are places where the ice on the river below the falls has gotten to 28 feet thick.
