Hey, Detroit folks.

Hey, Detroit folks. I am thinking I will come there tomorrow some time or maybe Saturday and leave maybe Monday? Anyway, I was wondering if some of you would be up for drinking a toast to my dad maybe Saturday night? One of the things I learned about my dad is that he liked good scotch and good wine and if anyone is available I’d like to buy a round in his honor. Fair warning I will probably ugly cry even if sober.

  1. Fuck. We have commitments but I will leave it for a bit and toast him with you.

  2. Thank you. I will let people know when I am actually in Michigan. If you guys could think of a time that makes sense for you and a decent ordinary place with good booze options re the above that would be great. My sister is ok with me staying in Ann Arbor so I will do that. Also, anything from late afternoon/early evening to later is good. Doesn’t need to be a particular time at night. Let me know what time works for you.

  3. Stefanie Fiskaa F-L Silver I can't see that post, either, apologies.

  4. I assume Detroit is most convenient for more people. Nothing fancy, but decent liquor/wine choices ideal - not just well drinks. Obs if there’s a place with good choices of scotch would be on point.

When I say Detroit I don’t mean any particular locale within that, though. Like, what time we meet will probably affect choices since weekend evenings can get pointlessly difficult re travel or crowdedness from maybe 7pm on?

  5. Early might be be better, and I will take the liberty of suggesting northern lights? Has decent liquor selection and is usually emptyish.

  6. I'll agree with Northern Lights early evening. Very easy to access off of M10.

  7. I'll be wherever anyone wants me to be at whatever time, I'm free tomorrow

  8. I’m going to suggest much earlier than that if we want to be less involved with other people, and I think we do

  9. I'm open. I'll arrange my schedule around this.

  10. I should mention I don’t know anything about places in Detroit with good scotch selections, and it seems like that’s important

  11. But 3 or 4 pm should be plenty good enough anywhere to have a table free to do our thing. 6 or 7 you’re playing with waits and fire.

  12. I’m tempted to tell you all to show up here and I’ll have a bottle of macallan, but we have to be somewhere at 5-6pm. Which I can ghost for a bit if necessary, but is a thing we’ve promised.
