Up much of night with Dad. At least half of the reason is he's stubborn and doesn't like taking pills unless he thinks he has some immediate problem. He really doesn't like this just take it to stabilize or maintain something. I mean, the man has never been on a chronic medication in his life - no high blood pressure, no diabetes, no nothing - and now he has to take all these pills. He hates it. But that's only part of why we are in this situation.

Hospice was happy to send a nurse and this nurse actually physically examined him and discussed his mental and emotional state and asked and listened to him. Which was great and my dad is sleeping, now. The nurse spoke with us after and we came up with a plan to try to make this better going forward. Which is great. My mom was 99% appropriate but still trying to make things her way.

After the nurse left, I told mom what to do when my dad woke up so I could try and get some kind of nap and she was all full of but what about this, but what about that. No, just what is written down. But what about this, but what about that. No, just stick to the plan. Like, it's printed out from a computer on a chart, so it's hard to see how much clearer it could be. Do what is on the paper, nothing else. Just exactly what is on the paper. But .. no, just what is on the paper. But ... NO, you do nothing that is not written on that paper for the next 2 hours. But ... AUGH.

Do something about your own anxiety and issues all by yourself for 2 freaking hours!! I literally said, "No improvising." To which she responded, "I'm not improvising." I can't even with this. Do. What. Is. Written. On. The. Paper. ONLY what is written on the paper. I feel like there's a Dear Ask a Manager in here, somewhere.

And now I am down to one hour of possible napping, which will probably make me feel worse, not better since it's so short a time, but I'm so tired I will probably pass out at some point. Unless being wound up like this keeps me up, in which case I'm sure I will be super pleasant the rest of the day.
