Fsck you, Cramer.

Fsck you, Cramer. My mom never got raped because she was tough is a BS argument. How do you even know what happened to the women in your family? Newsflash - you don't, because there's no way any of them ever told you anything that personal and devastating because that's how you'd respond. (Asshole alert at the NYT link and below picture.)

I wish I lived in ND just so I could vote for Heidi Heitkamp. (The CNN link is a heck of a read about her and why she voted against Kavanaugh.)

  1. I did not see enough Heitcamp signs while driving through ND. Made me sad.

  2. You know, Mom and I were talking the other day about women who don’t tell their fathers - I wouldn’t, and she wouldn’t have, either. Not because of victim-blaming, but because we wouldn’t want to end up consoling them for how bad it made them feel.

A thing I think a lot about is how we really don’t do men any favors by sheltering them so hard all their lives, but realizing that and stopping doing so are two very different things.

  3. I wonder if that isn't part of the same weird ideas of masculinity we have where men are supposed to protect and defend women and therefore aren't men if their women get hurt, or something. Which is messed up and I can totally see how that would lead to ultimately harmful behaviors on multiple levels.

  4. We protect them from lots more than that, but I’m sure that’s part of it.
