Made it to oncology office. Mom stayed in waiting room, grudgingly and with a lot of passive aggressive nonsense from the literal instant we got back to the waiting room.

Anyway, biopsy says it is a recurrence of the lymphoma, it is not nice, they are recommending some form of chemo but because of what happened yesterday they are also referring at least as an initial step to the local cancer center because more testing to rule out other involvement and that will dictate the available options, if any. They also drew more blood to make sure there isn't anything ancillary that needs to be treated before Monday.

Some comfort scripts being called in, oncologist said he's on call this weekend so call if anything needed. Also said the cancer center has a cancer urgent care that is open and if needed can go there. So we have a plan until Monday.

Also, dad is finally having the bad tooth that started this all removed, after much nonsense. There was a debate but since the cancer center can't see him until Monday, he wants to go ahead and the oncologist agreed.

Plans do not include how to deal with my mother, who was insisting that she would take dad to the maxillofacial surgeon tomorrow, but then realized that a) she had to get up at 6:00 am and drive through rush hour traffic, b) she wants a better negotiating position for being at the appointment on Monday. So she graciously #sarcasm suggested that I go.

Sigh.

  1. No, she cannot manage this to her benefit and no she is not the point person other than your father anymore.
