I like pumpkin spice and even I agree that it is no longer special when I can get it basically year round. I mean, who'd want a shamrock shake if you could get them all year?

ReplyDeleteUm... I got really excited to see they revealed the date but I was expecting September. I suspect the fact frappe sales are down has a lot to do with them trying to extend the season. I'm not the only pumpkin spice fiend.
OMG if they had pumpkin spice everything all year long I'd never lose weight. Ever.
I compromise by stocking up on tea bags & sparingly using them at points throughout the year. Pumpkin Spice scones, bread, donuts, & cookies are a different story. Oh! Then there's the syrup favor. I can't stock up on that, it won't make it all year.
Pumpkin seeds on the other hand, I eat all year around. Or I did until they changed to soybean oil on them which is a big fat no. I hope we can make our own roasted pumpkin seeds this year.
Roasted pumpkin seeds and pumpkin seed oil don't count against the spice thing. Unless you mean you eat the seeds with all the spices on them. Is that a thing? Oh, and you can get raw pumpkin seeds and toast them yourself to avoid the soybean oil. I know Trader Joe's carries plain, shelled, raw pumpkin seeds but probably a lot of healthier type stores do, too. That way you don't have to wait until fall to get an actual pumpkin.
ReplyDeleteI tend to eat my pumpkin seeds with just salt. I've had pumpkin seeds with pumpkin spice though. It's just not my go to snack, I prefer salted.
