Somebody at the administration figured out "talking points" and is really hammering that nail. I'm sure we're all shocked that their tack is:

They are just following orders the law. No, no, there's no policy. Laws override policies. We have no policy. It's the law. The law made us do it.

followed by:

If only the Democrats would just let us sign a good law. Isn't it terrible that the Democrats won't help these poor children?

Right. The Imperial Presidency of HRH Donald, Worst of that Name, is suddenly completely helpless before The Law.

What disturbs me more than that, because, honestly, this is their play book and it should surprise no one, is the interview I heard on NPR with a mayor from eastern Tennessee, where a bunch of kids' parents were rounded up and shipped off and the kids were left there with no one. Plus, this happened while the kids were in school, and nobody told them. They just came home and their parents never did.

The convolutions that man goes through to make it great that the law was enforced and his community was great for getting together to help those kids in this crisis and both are great is so bothersome. It gives an upsetting insight into how at least some of the pro-Trump, pro-GOP voters must think. And it doesn't sound like any of this changed any of their minds. Which is terrifying.

  1. At least there are some highly notable women voicing their opinion. This is about morality not about the law.
