It would be a major mess, but if somebody could get all the immigrants who pick our food and work in our meat processing plants and do all the back of the house work in restaurants and so on to stop work for even a whole week, surely it would clarify for people how much our economy relies on them?

But that's the whole point of efforts on that side of the aisle to eliminate the safety net - the theory being that if you strip poor Americans of any help with food, shelter, or medical care, you'll force them to take up those jobs to live.
ReplyDeleteOr choose to kill themselves with opioids. Either way, they won't be mooching off those who earned their money, so they say. It's, as they put it, all about taking responsibility for oneself. As Lewandowski would say: "Womp womp."
Can't say they don't have a comprehensive solution to what they see as America's problems...
