Acting as a reference for someone whose expertise is managing clinical trials. Get asked about skill set. Mention detail oriented and give example straight out of current events. I pointed out that this was exactly the sort of thing the person I was recommending would have caught as it was happening and nipped it in the bud. The recruiter/HR person I was talking to had no idea what I was talking about. This is a company that runs clinical trials.

My confidence in an organization drops when that's the interaction. It's bizarre to me, even if it is not your specific field, that if you are in medical research at all, especially if your job is running clinical trials, you are unaware of the most prominent retraction in years and why it happened.
