As somebody else noted, there's public and private venting. In a time of crisis, it's important to pull as many people together as possible. We set aside differences and disagreements for a greater good. That doesn't mean we should not remain well-advised as to the nature of our allies and what may well happen when the immediate crisis passes or at least becomes less urgent.

Publicly and privately, I believe in second chances and alliances of necessity. Privately, both respect and trust are earned. That takes time and consistency and a lot of work. It's easy to lose trust, it's hard to gain it.
