Yep.
Yep. i still haven't been able to get a refill on my Rx. Fortunately, I haven't had to use mine and they're actually good well past the expiration date if they haven't been exposed to extreme conditions. Nonetheless, they really do need to start offering more alternatives. (I have the non-Mylan epipen equivalent) Also, though? Go back to teaching people how to give themselves an injection. It's cheap and reasonable to go back to a kit with a prefilled syringe, or at least one designed so people can't give themselves the wrong dose.
Epi-pen's marketing has been too pervasive and too effective for too long. It doesn't matter if it showed as faster than filling a syringe in studies if the only thing you can get is a syringe and an ampoule of adrenalin/epinephrine. People are panicked and some are in real danger because they've been told over and over that they have to have an auto injector. That simply isn't true. But even some doctors and nurses have never used anything but an auto-injector. That's ridiculous. People are totally capable of learning to give themselves a shot. Better to teach them that and give them syringes and ampoules of adrenalin/epinephrine than to leave them with nothing.
