The Netflix kerfuffle made me think of this show and some bizarre moments from it that I never understood. Then I saw this link. Yep, that's what we need. A return of another show apologizing for the South losing the Civil War written by, for, and about white people.

They get full credit for addressing certain issues like the AIDS epidemic at the time, but I cannot see how this could possibly be rebooted without being even more offensive than the whole thing now seems in retrospect. Unless maybe Meshach Taylor's character now owns the company and it has other names on it and other clients than a bunch of privileged, rich, old line, white Southerners. And maybe the highest goal of the female characters is not marrying the same.
