Remind me never to let myself get suckered into a political conversation with my mom again, ok?
It's not that she's inherently dumb, or that in the end we'd support much that was different. It's that she seems to operate primarily on emotion, and I want to deal with facts. Plus, I'm wrong. What I feel is wrong, what I think is wrong. I'm just wrong. She's also dismissive of you and your experience, like she's decided some of it didn't happen, or happened differently than you experienced it. How do you tell someone they didn't have their own experiences?
