It isn't enough that women have more opportunities than they used too and that many of them succeed to high levels. The price of admission is disproportionate and saying so is not an excuse to cover up incompetence. Just because the door is open, doesn't mean it isn't booby trapped.
I don't care if this makes people uncomfortable. Wishing it away won't fix it.

In a general sense, one of the things that propagated and permitted harassment for so long was the idea that there was way to make lasting changes without dismantling an entire entrenched and accepted level of behavior universally across all industries and governments of the country/world.
ReplyDeleteThere are a lot of pitfalls that could, and possibly will, destroy the momentum and credibility of the movement to do so, and that does worry me. But, so long as there is due process and honest investigation going on, this is a kind of destabilization that I can get behind.
