The mama drama, it's like junior high without the logic.
My niece was one of the seniors at her college (christ, I feel old) to be invited to give a talk/presentation. It's a thing they do. Anyway, my sister decided to go because it's an opportunity to pack up some stuff prior to the mayhem of graduation.
All along, when my sister would visit my niece she'd stop here overnight and since she had another front seat and already had a hotel room, our dad would go with her. Mom never went because mom initially kept refusing invites. So the invites stopped.
Well, through convoluted processes, mom managed to get herself invited (technically not really but that's a whole 'nuther drama) to this 20 minute talk and a couple days of packing. But no, that is not sufficient. Mom wants certain lodgings and certain vehicles and certain other travel arrangements, and so on. Also planned entertainments.
She tried to press me into going and that didn't work. She has been harassing my sister for about a week, now, by phone, email, and text. My sister is so angry that she has been in daily contact so I can talk her down and mitigate what would end up in the reply texts and emails. Also to reassure her that the person out of touch with reality is not her.
It's like you invited someone to a wedding and they decided they were going to take over and run the wedding. Except you would still be doing all the work because they were going to tell you how they wanted everything. My mother respects no one and no boundaries, I swear.
