  1. Not according to a lot of right-wing Americans, we're not.

    Many (white) Republicans often opine that East Asian Americans ought to be reliable Republican voters. After all, so their argument goes, as a group we are wealthier and have higher Christian church attendance than average.

    But most of us are also deeply aware - made deeply aware - that a big chunk of their side doesn't see us as American at all. Or at the least, here in America at their sufferance, even when we're born here. Which is probably why, for example, less than 1 in 5 Chinese Americans identify as Republican [1].
