This is interesting.
This is interesting. There's some hyperbolic media coverage (sigh), but it's another turn in a long standing concern about what do you consider when replacing fluid volume loss - osmolality, pH, ions??? If you've watched way too much MEDICAL DRAMA on television, or movies, the one thing you might have heard of is Ringer's Lactate that would be one of the many forms of "balanced fluids" rather than so-called normal saline (which is designed to match the osmolality of blood).
