What concerns me is the ha ha, he's a conspiracy believer, ha ha, responses, and other justifications and rationalizations about a powerful leader unhinged from reality. The obvious sub-text is that there are people who will violate any custom, any norm, any law as long as they get their way and stay in power. They are too enamored of power, and too religious about their visions of governance. Some of them may just be so uncomfortable and confused that they are afraid and frozen in place while enjoying what they can of their side's power and control; they are still complicit.
As for the closing remarks about Kennedy, yes, oh, boy, did he have personal flaws. Are you seriously suggesting that Jacqueline Kennedy's efforts to save the admirable and good parts of what her husband was, is an excuse for Trump? Kennedy was a legitimate war hero, and made some serious effort at actual governance. You really want to compare that with Trump? These people are delusional. Wealthy, powerful, and delusional.
