It's the weekend after Thanksgiving, and you have leftovers and access to fresh cheese curds. What do you do? Turkey Tot Poutine! There really are tater tots under there. We used leftover turkey that we shredded up a bit, and some of the homemade cranberry sauce, and very hot turkey gravy. The curds got all squeaky and melty, nom nom nom.
This was actually the result of a challenge my sister and niece (the college student) issued. Were one not able to access homemade food, but could access a Trader Joe's, one could purchase all these things there, even already cooked turkey. Plus, one could get either regular fries or sweet potato fries in their frozen food section for a variety of poutine bases. Not to mention, one could do a loaded version with stuffing and green beans and mushrooms and crispy onions with stuff from TJs.
We also discussed that this could totally be turned into a midwestern casserole classic one dish Thanksgiving meal.
