It's clearly professionally decorated, and would be elegant and appropriate in many settings. However, the fact that it is cold, distant, and devoid of any feeling of comfort or, well, feelings of any sort, is somehow fully representative of the impression I have of these people.

Also, the ridiculously costume nature of her overpriced designer clothes is really lame. Like, I'm glad the kids got into it, but pageants have been doing this for a long time and, frankly, looking more heartfelt and sincere.

Btw, it's totally worth looking at the picture links. Some of them it is just begging for Queen Jadis to show up. Possibly with some turkish delight.

  1. Wow, the difference between her hallway and the Obamas' is staggering. I wouldn't have even believed it was the same hallway independent of context.

  2. Before they released the photos, I was reading all of these quotes from her about how she wanted to invoke the comfort and warmth of coming home to be with the family for the holidays. Apparently, she actually meant being tossed into the wild forests of Slovenia?

  4. There's actually a lot of beautiful outdoor places in Slovenia. So I'm not sure what she was channeling.

I'm digging the American Horror Story take, but not so much the gypsy hooker comment. I'd've gone with White House Christmas and let it speak for itself.
