I am torn about this.
I am torn about this. While it is a huge and very public platform for the inclusion and achievement of people with various challenges like Down Syndrome, it is also perpetuating the objectification of women. With all due respect, women are so much more than jewelry and makeup and dresses and hair styles and bathing suits. Stop paying us to look good and start paying us for the work we do and the contributions we make.
I'm glad for her, and it is a step forward, but she is so much more than what she looks like. I'm a little worried about possible tokenism here, too.
