Another poorly parsed thought brought to you by this stupid timeline. Things one will argue have nothing to do with the slippery slope of entitlement and harassment: pairs. By which I mean our society's insistence that one must be paired off to have value or one has a loss of status or is, frankly, not welcome. At the very least, one is penalized.
For example, buy one get one meal offers where the business refuses to come up with a 50% off option if one is not in a pair. Or the pros and cons of how one is taxed if one is single or legally paired. Or going on travel tours where you have to pay more if you are single, or you have to agree to be placed with a complete stranger. Or buying freaking dance/prom tickets in junior high and high school - it costs less per ticket if you have a date!
This is not going to reassure men who may already feel the built in societal criticism of "losers" who "can't get a date" or "can't get laid". It will keep rubbing it in. Maybe we should stop judging people as pairs, and just value them as individuals for their own sake.
