I have a suggestion for why the trend is reversed in developed countries. Nobody sees their friends, siblings, and other family members drop dead or left permanently disabled every single day. Not any more. So obviously, we can just stop bothering because it's not ever going to be a problem again. Like magic. And they say object permanence is supposed to be a problem only in babies and toddlers.

    There is another case here in MI of divorced parents disagreeing about vaccination. Mom thinks they are made with human embryos.

    Fucking religion, man. And their bullshit abortion politics.

    Once upon a time, a very long time ago, eons, really, in terms of generations of cell lines, yes, the cell lines were started with real human tissue from an electively terminated pregnancy. That is, the cell lines used in making some vaccines.

    It's very odd, though, why this isn't considered the same as organ donation, or bone marrow, or a kidney from a living donor.

    More importantly, if your religion says it's a higher moral good to not only expose your own child to death and disability, but to expose others to death and disability, because one pregnancy was terminated, that's a hell of a form of relativism.

    If Jesus died for your sins, maybe that baby died to save all the other children of the world from measles. How about that?
