Linking because female and pain in this culture. I think it is actually harder if you are a public performer, because there's an automatic disbelief about you, esp. if your career plays off belief/disbelief and challenging norms. I think one of, if not the main reason why men speak or demonstrate pain less in this society is because it is labeled weak and feminine. Therefore, it is even worse if a man openly experiences pain - he's not just weak, he's not a man.

Our society is really messed up, y'all.
